By:
i dont own a tv
i read at least one book a week, although i have read the lost symbol its usually a mix of fiction and non fiction this week i've read 2 books, one called 'how to make love like a p0rn star' which is an autobio by jenna jameson :) and the other a non fiction book about the development of the atomic bomb between 1938-1950 in usa, russia and germany. |

FFS, many people I know read a book a week. Much to be said for it. Who wants to stare at a friggin' screen? Probably increase the incidence of brain cancer.
By:
I've always got at least one book on the go.Memoir mainly and I top it up by re-reading books that I love - Gatsby- Catch 22-Orwell-etc.
By:
As a retailer of fine books i can confirm people do READ but want everything for nothing.
By:
What sort of books.I'm a bookseller too

not watching lennon? I dont get the reference.
Nice to see some people still read. I'm personally reading Cormac McCarthy's Border Trilogy at the moment after being blown away the road. enjoying it immensely. Maybe we could start a Betfair Book Group :) |

feel sorry tbh for people who dont read, theyre missing out on so much, and id say that every single book ive read which has been made into a film has been better than whats on offer on the big screen, mainly as a good book will always leave room for the imagination

And I have thousands of books I want to get rid of in the next month - for (some) money.
By:
Details Bodil. I may be interested but I would have to do the deal tomorrow
By:
Really dobbo?
We sell on amazon (suprise) and ebay(which is hard work custoemr wise) though not really fine books at all usually back catlogue bestsellers and remainders |
By:
I'm prepared to offer you the full ammount but i want... 40% of the business.
By:
I have a bookshop in Brugge.Sell first editions on Abe.Ebay isn't worth a carrot to me and how the hell you compete on Amazon I have yet to fathom.
By:
Bonviv - if you have a list I might be interested
By:
So many books, sooo few details, Dobbo. Most are my level. All are considerately handled. None are likely to be sold tonight.
By:
good point dobbo..i'd love to have the time to deal and sell carp.ts a numbers game for me,much as i love to read.We buy pallets of remainders and also pallets off back issue archer/binchy/deaver etc brand new and sell at about 0.75p per book profit.

By:
No list dobbo as we list the stuff soon as we get it,i dont bother csv fileing it as it goes out rigth away.
the margins are horrid though. The only way you can REALLY compete on amazon is to have them distibute your books "FBA" where you get about 65p for a small packet against say £1.40 with a royal mail account |
By:
woman in black is a crackerjack! ;)

Good.Dont forget.
By:
I do have 147 current law suits about ownership of the books but it's a deal!
By:
Up until about a year ago probably read about a book a week on average over course of a year. 95% non-fiction.
Unfortunately, I now simply don't have time to read like I want to. Probably only around 1 every 6 weeks, which in itself makes books much less enjoyable as I can never really get into a book and read it through swiftly. Betfair Book group is a smashing idea. |
By:
Given today's distractions, a book a week is way above average. But neccessary for the content soul.
By:
would people be interested in a book group?
I'll ask again tomorrow and see if we can get enough support! |
