I get something like that..........after about 24 hours of pc on......lines go blank....

Check your keyboard settings havent been altered from standard uk?
I get that as a message....not sure it's related....
I have just pressed Number Lock once and the problem has gone

funny i'va had a memory problem last 2 days too

Pressing Number lock shouldnt affect anything surely, all it does is to allow you to use the numeric keypad.
on my pc,it seems to allow half the keyboard to function ok & the other where the numbers r on the keys to override--it caught me out quite a few times ... :0
problem still there could it be a dirty keyboard maybe worth a clean?

oddly enough I do not have the problem in word but do when writing emails and especially when typing in here.
I had a similar thing recently only on firefox though.
Was very odd things on here.
