For acting ability rather than 'star quality' I agree with de Niro and Depp and would add Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson

The guy who has played Ken Barstool in Corn St for about 40 years would have been up there with the all time greats if a slight lack of ambition hadn't hindered his career.

you have to say tho, that actors are more likely to be remembered for their star quality, or magnetism ie de niro and nicholson, the really good actors dont always have that great presence ie spacey, oldman

Actually, when you think about it, the western Unforgiven had 4 of the greatest actors of all time.
