He lived in the same town as me for years.
He came in my shop once - didn't put a bet on and was generally ignored, not a popular bloke. He had a couple of drivers taking him about everywhere, I knew them both. They said how tight he is too. |

It was in Essex, Dragon.
He moved about 10 years ago when he (had) built a house on the outskirts of Colchester. iirc, he had a few operations on his stomach in the 1990's, and had a bit of a bad back too. He apparently helped my ex-mrs (a maths teacher) with some lessons in her school a couple of weeks ago too! I don't know if he was paid for that. |
|
By:
seems a false person to me
|
|
By:
seen him doing the maths thing before - creative way of teaching it, to be fair.
Bet one or two forumites could teach kids maths based on their ability to calculate odds. |

About 25yrs ago I was playing on the north london circuit. Saw Bobby a few times and he always came across as alright to me. Bit full of himself but you had to be.
I remember him at an exibition picking up cement bags. One in each hand. Kept lifting them straight armed up to his shoulders. I thought bugger that, I'll give you a game of darts. |

Sadly I seemed to always be knocked out before any potential clash. Beat Mike gregory once though.
Claim to fame. That was a long way from London though, down in Bristol. I have another story about that. |
