yeah posting things through a letterbox is so demanding, it's many people's first job when they are kids
Report rustyboy • October 22, 2009 8:01 AM BST
Employment law says you can't.

It's a very similar situation to the firemen strikes about 5/6 years ago. Queues of people willing to take their place but you just "can't" apparently.

just?

i worked for a period last year and the year before that. and before that had worked all my adult life

sack the posties
Report Tifosi Rossonero • October 22, 2009 8:40 AM BST
Reagan got it right all those years ago with the air traffic controllers.
He said if you're not working then I'll find someone else to do it and sacked 18000 of them.
Sack the postmen and give the job to someone who's prepared to do as they are told.

Well actually you can, but only if the strike is illegal, which the current CWU action isn't.

No need to sack anyone.

25% will be redundant next year. (serves them right)
Report mitchell downie • October 22, 2009 1:22 PM BST
my post was delivered this morning.

What a load of b0ll0x. Postmen do a great job. They are managed by a group of morons on huge wages, and are exercising their nght to show their dissatisfaction.

If anyone deserves redundancy, it's that cvnt Crozier.
Report redbag • October 22, 2009 1:28 PM BST
well said nestor :) happy birthday btw
Report HarryCrumb • October 22, 2009 1:30 PM BST
They should halve Croziers wages and give the money to the postmen for a payrise. Then they can go back to work.
Report Little Des • October 22, 2009 1:53 PM BST
I'm old enough to remember Mr Tom Jackson.

Now what was it he did for the postal workers ??

Report The B'stard • October 22, 2009 6:51 PM BST
yeah im sure loads of unemployed people willing to give up having the following benefits....

rent paid
council tax paid
fuel paid

plus any employment benefit. Give up all that to get up at 4am and lug bags around like a donkey 6 days a week for 250 in your hand. I think not. Given that the average dolewaller on benefits would need a job paying £430 a week in their hand to make it worth their while signing off its just not going to happen

A lot of posties can't read.
