Being stuck in a room with a greyhound that has gorged itself on leftover smoked salmon and chorizo, and even had a drop of my Guinness would have to be a contender.
Putrid, it'll have an @rse like the japanese flag before the night is out.
Ive got a couple of labradors, those stinking things once on a walk by the river found and rolled in some dead rotten fish,I drove home with my head out the window,my landrover stank for ages after.

no -it's a serious question . I'm intrigued when I try to figure out what a smell actually is in the material world . You can't see it -so where is it ? Is it miniscule droplets of moisture that floats around like a fog ? let's say that's what it is - so what is it then that makes the droplets have the effect that they do on our olfactory receptors ?
I find that the more I think about supposedly simple everyday things -the more mysterious and incomprehensible everything seems . Basically I understand f*ck-all about anything . :D

Interestingly -there are some smells that people disagree about as to whether they're nasty or not . I can#t stand the smell of sulphur -but others could stay lighting matches in a broom cupboard and feel not in the least discomfited. There are undoubtedly some smells that everyone seems to find repulsive - e.g. rotten eggs.

punterfleecer 01 Jan 21:26 I would be very happy to bet £100 on that there's at least 1 chit-chatter that would love to smell heather's gusset that she wore, sweated and farted on the same day

My brother in law at the time and his wife ran a pig farm, he had to shoot the rats that were as big as dogs that used to gather around the piles of excrement piled up before the lorry came around to remove it. We went into what was similar to a low level aircraft hanger where there was about two thousand pigs maybe more and he started shooting the rats. All of the pigs**ed and crapped at the same time because of the gunshots and I have never known anything like it in my entire life, the smell was overpowering and I had to run out of the place throwing up as I ran.

I once knew an estate agent in Cardiff. He was asked to go around this posh place up in Cyncoed by a really pompous couple, before marketing it.
Anyway, he gets the gig, and puts it on the market.
Doesn't sell for months and months, and they made his life hell, moaning, complaining, phoning and whinging. Wouldn't drop the price, even though he advised them to.
In the end he gets dis-instructed on the sale, and they wrote to his boss to really complain. Nearly cost him his job at first, but luckily his bosses realised that this couple were tw*ts of the first order.
Anyway, the couple instructed another big national estate agent.
My estate agent mate by now had encyclopaedic knowledge of the house, and it had these funny radiators in every room, with a sort of dust-tray at the bottom.
As revenge, he got 3 or4l friends to go and view it, separately, and got all of them to take a packet of fish fingers and quietly drop them down the back of a radiator where they could not be seen, and couldn't be retrieved unless you detached the trays at the bottom of the rads.
Apparently, after 3 weeks, the stench was so bad, they called out Rentokil to try and find if they had a decomposing rat under the floorboards, which resulted in them lifting floors etc. at large expense LOLOL
