I loved Midnight Run, but mainly for Charles Grodin. I cannot understand why he was not a huge star. He is funny, attractive and intelligent, a fatal combination. In this film he represented the perfect man, honest, courageous, nice and funny. I wish I could meet a man like he played in this film! :)

Actually I think Charles Grodin is a very good actor.
Annie if you ever get the chance try to see a film called The Hearbreak Kid, made in 1972 starring CG please do so. I havent seen it for years but my guess is it is something you would enjoy. |

you have two forms of communication..... silence and rage

By:
Thanks, panglima. It is such a shame that he was not used in good films. I think Midnight Run was his only good film - it is amazing he was not used more after that.

How is he honest? He lied first and it set De Niro's ulcer off. |

Panglima, I do not possess a dvd player and I would have to wait too long to see it on tv - any ideas how to record it from the internet if it is there?
By:
bito, what did you mean? Why do I constantly ask you what you meant? Are you always**ed?
By:
* p i s s e d *
By:
i thought you'd made a spelling mistake and i was feeling chivalrous
By:
Annie I cannot help you there I am probably as inept on the pc when it comes to things like that as you probably are.
By:
my god, bito :) An actual, proper sentence with big words - I loved it. Why do you not post like that more often?
I take you point about excusable. I have seen it is print often with that spelling, so maybe it is an american spelling? |
By:
*in* not is
By:
Thanks, panglima. Maybe our fellow chit chatters can help?
By:
BTW Annie thats the 1972 version not the 2007 remake which was awful.
By:
Why do they constantly make remakes of perfect films? Why not just bring out the original?
By:
Totally agree
By:
I have just found it on Google video but the quality is poor, so I might leave it until I upgrade my computer or get a dvd. It would be a shame to see a good film under those conditions.
By:
Annie - Grodin was also excellent in 'The Couch Trip'.
By:
Preferred him in 'Clifford' tbh :D
