Didn't the marketing gimps realise we already had a word for pear cider?
Actually, the answer is probably yes but it confused the borderline 18-year-olds who drink the stuff. |

I tried a crabbies bottled thing the other day, was surprisingly pleasant and refreshing.

Both truly great British drinks but so much bad press from winos on imitation cider. Refreshing in summer and great mulled in cold weather. mmmmm.

All perry is pear cider.
All pear cider is not perry. It's down to the variety of pears that they use. The new brands were riding on the back of the (now waning, thank fck) popularity of M*gn*rs so called themselves ciders even if technically they are perries. Kopperberg is shoite. |

Pear cider is rotten, I like apple cider so tried some stuff from Ikea food dept years ago before it even became fashionable and it was not very pleasant at all.

In answer to the original question, apple cider is infinitely better than pear cider.
The range of flavours is amazing because of the varieties of apple we get here. Pear cider is just over sweet muck suitable only for girls and mincers. |
