i go to places i dont know almost daily....i use a navman...and i have to say that to be perfectly fair...ive always got there!....one criticism would be that it does not appear to have any recognition of roadworks or road closures!

I don't think that we need one.
She wants one for the sake of it IMO!

Just my her a road atlas. My missus has a sat nav and would now drive off the edge of a cliff if the nice man told her to. She's basically just forgone her brain.

I don't know too much about them but here's a decent site for comparing all the prices....

http://www.find-tomtom-deals.co.uk/

(Can change it to other TomTom models, plus Navman / Garmin etc on the top right)

You know the Girlies, they ALWAYS want to find others to blame!

A Sat. Nav. will be perfect if and when she gets lost!

whatever happened to having a map and/or trying to find your own way?

I see people driving along with these things RIGHT IN their line of vision - about time they were banned

My missus can't drive, when I've got satnav on she thinks all the beep beeps are ALL speed cameras (not realising they're slightly different tones for a reason) I've never told her .....she just says 'Well my eyesights getting terrible I can't even see speed cameras now' !!!! :-)

I was a non believer but the wife wanted one a couple of years back so we ended up buying a Garmin (UK only). Have to say that they are good and I have eaten humble pie.

Don't know about other makes but quite happy with our one and the software can be updated online for free.
