Does anyone know if, when you buy a game thro the wii shop, ie Super mario classic. does the game stay on a hard drive or do you need a special card ?

i THINK you get the choice - it will say something along the lines of 'save to system - 750 blocks out of 1090 free' (or however many) or 'save to SD card', for which there is a slot on the top of the machine.
have just confirmed you get the choice, not a bad idea to get an sd card tho, as between game saves, wii channels and virtual console games the system space goes pretty fast.
