Archie Andrews....top radio dummy...narrowly beating Chris Evans
To think Archie Andrews and Creator were at the top of the Entertainment tree...by being a ventriolioquist on the radio..lol
probably the same fan base as Mike Yarwood in later years.
Archie was a Tramp around the Elephant and Castle circa 1980.
Used to greet you every time you went for a drink in one of The OLd Kent Roads 100 Pubs.
His wife died and he stopped painting and took to wearing a McDonalds hat around the streets 24/7.
One day he got sozzled, as per usual, and instead of saying "Good Luck Lads!"...just snarled "Fxx K The Pleasantries!".....still makes m laugh 30 years later.
Shame how the death of his wife completely sent him downhill.
