Our postie (Malcolm) has made it here every day since the snow came down.

Still got a few inches left on the roads and pavements now, which are like ice rinks.

We gave him a fiver.

He got here at 3-45 p.m. on Xmas Eve and my mrs asked him if he wanted a cuppa, but he said he couldn't stop as he never finished until 7-00 p.m.on the 23rd.

Without wanting to brown nose,I think the posties do a fine job.Governed by a union is a bit 80's,but hey, they are there to be used.
No complaints from a satisfied customer.

I always give my postie a tip.

Not doing that is a bit like sending food back in a restaurant. Very unwise.

I have different posties all the time, they deliver anytime between 10 am and 4pm. I have had lots of mail for clearly different addresses and several items have gone missing in the post over the past year, or so. In other words, my postie (whoever he is this week) can kiss my arse for a tip, as they are a bunch of illiterate, thieving **s.

Report scandanavian_haven • December 30, 2018 8:34 PM GMT
This wont go down well here, but why did/do posties expect tips? especially back in the day when posties were in the pub by midday because they had shorter walks, and all they were doing was their job, surely it'd be better to go and tip the minimum wage workers in Sainsbury's or the lollipop lady if they still exist round your way. I had one lazy postmen who could never be bothered to knock on my door for me to sign for a recorded delivery, he used to take the barcode off and sign it himself, then shove it through the door.
Report TheBetterBettor • December 30, 2018 9:26 PM GMT
Do you tip Amazon deliveries?

But no, society says don't tip these guys over here, but tip these guys over here. That's bullsh1t. Mr. Pink
Report Culvin • December 31, 2018 12:34 PM GMT
I just finished a city and guilds course and as a reward for passing, I was given £200 of shopping vouchers, £10 of which I placed into a card for our postie, a lady who just happens to be gorgeous. As I was going out, 2 hours ago, I seen her doing her posting and wished her A Happy New Year and she said "Thanks for the card, that was Great" and then I said, "You're the best postman we've ever had " wished her a Happy New year again and then kissed her on the cheek, and then we went our separate ways and I then became all warm inside with a feeling of love for pretty posties and everyone in this big world.xLove
