Did anybody see this lengthy interview with Henry Cecil? Really enjoyed this.

I tore the info out of the racing post and put it on my desk. I then started playing poker and forgot all about it. Really annoyed with myself. However, they are bound to show it again. Cecil is my hero.

Happy Christmas, folks.

Yes, Mr.Cecil didn't let us down. He said he'd never trained a genuine horse with small ears - Oh So Sharp had big ears, just like Arkle! He's not too keen on people with eyes too close together, or thin, wirey types like "something's eating away at them."

Bosra Sham had terrible feet and he only had her right once...Indian Skimmer was never really trained to the max...he forgot Old Vic's name at one point...

His dog nipped the Queen when she visited Warren Place. The Queen remarked on his collection of toy soldiers, pipers and knights, and Henry said, "The only knight I don't have is Sir Michael Stoute."

I remember reading Henry Cecil's autobiography years ago, and laughing out loud a few times. Another two hours would have been fine, here. What a man.

C'mon Queen - give him the knighthood he deserves.

Agree with Sonko and Velasquez re the knighthood. Plenty of much less deserving and achieving 'Sirs' around. The man is a genius, and what makes him all the more admirable is he kept his dignity when things were going wrong.

I have never understood why Stoute is knighted for charitable works, but Cecil is not knighted for services to horseracing. I have always had a soft spot for Cecil and I think men can take heart from this as he is not really attractive but he is a gentleman in all senses of the word.

one of the best bits was . he said trainers are **ing when they run horses over 5f when they should be running over 1m 4f , he said that when they run over 5f there ability is an official mark of 50 but when they run over there proper distance of 1m4f they end up rated 95 !! he asked matt of any trainer doing this . matt couldnt think of any 1 , bet sir mark isnt on henrys crimbo list

Henry Cecil is my hero, how he has never been knighted is a national disgrace. The 40 somethings that are on here now grew up with Henry putting out the relentless winners with Steve Cauthen on board. When asked who was his best filly Henry replied, Oh So Sharp was quite good. Love the man.

Totally agree, here we go again. For years we have been fed the tripe that how great Sir Mark is as a trainer. He has rarely trained anything of merit considering the material at this disposal. He is only fit to train handicappers that he has obtained a good mark for by running over the wrong distances.

Henry is a man who came back again, certain owners showed proper loyalty and their colours will be remembered by many. The those owners got rewarded, we are just missing a narchious super horse.

If i ever grow up i want to be like sir henry.

To be fair I cannot think of any occasion when Prescott has been compared to Henry.Henry is in a different league and everyone knows that all ready

Ibrahima Sonko, Rishi did indeed truly disgrace himself that day but he went on the horse racing forum on Betfair afterwards to apologies so I give him credit for that. Many others would have dodged it..

Absolute proof that annie is male or a lezzer... every woman I know who follows racing thinks henry is an absolute lovegod whose babies they would willingly have...

annie falls into the male trap of equating looks with attraction imo ;)
