This isn't to knock the traditionalists but does anyone REALLY enjoy "xmas dinner"?

I'm no huge fan of turkey and sprouts make me vomit so it's never been a fav time of year for me foodwise.Seems all so stressfull for people cooking the dinner all day and rushing about then the mountain of washing up.And truth be told i bet about 75% of the country have a terribly cooked mish mash of slop.

I've pre ordered a full spread from Marks and Spencer, just gotta pick it up at 3pm and that's xmas dinner sorted.Thankfully all i need to is put it all out with a few bottles of shampoo and start drinking about 11am ready for casual drop in's.Not cheap but relaxation is the order of the day.

Whats the routine for other chit chatters? anyone jus not bother at all?

My mum is a fantastic cook and I cannot wait to sample her moist meat, perfect roast potatoes and vegetables etc.

Yes. Then again I get christmas dinner at my mums house so she cooks it all and I do nothing but enjoy it, being the lazy and ungrateful feck that I am.

not stressful for me as I go to my brother's and they do all the cooking.I love the meal except for sprouts which literally make me gag - always clear my plate as a point of honour though.

i drive 1.5hrs each way to visit rellies, only for them all to fall asleep in front of the tv after eating, at which point i quietly get up and go. but the bloke who does the meal runs a catering company so the food is always top notch.

Yes, roast potatoes and pigs in blankets with a bit of gravy and bread sauce is delightful

I enjoy a christmas meal, except for the turkey part. Only meat I cannot stand. I'll eat it just so that I'm not the odd one out in the family.

Sprouts are the best way to remember the suffering of others less fortunate at christmas. For the few seconds they are in your mouth, you'd happily swap with a hungry Ethiopian - even with Lenny Henry visiting for Children In Need.
