Yeah, no problem. Where in Wythenshawe are you going?
|
|

Saw a Documentary on Wyth. about a year ago...looked like some areas were under Vigiilante law and the Pubs were controlled by the Drug Gangs.Have things improved any?
|

That was after the improvement Tambers...

Played footy in Wyth many years ago. We had 7 players, they had a squad of 16, used all their subs, threatened my dad and a friends dad with knives, and went on to win 23-2. I scored an OG but did hack down spotty faced ginger prik.
Oh happy days, think they were called Walley Range |

Cheers Easter!
Re: Child's comment - Whalley Range is a completely separate area of Manchester a good few miles away from Wythenshawe, so it leaves a big question mark over the validity of the rest of your story. |

Think there's a fair chance GvG!

Horribly Mis quoted we did not win! And i didnt say we did.
Perhaps Whalley Range was a diff game, this all happened 12+ years ago. Wythamshaw once the largest council estate in Europe, I used to live near Warrington myself but my football team played in the Manchester junior leagues. Also used to play teams like Flixton, Urmston etc all in roughly the same area. I can quite honestly say my life has not sunk to depths where id lie about something so innocuous on a forum. Jeez louise |
|
By:
Child - fair enough, but your geographical knowledge of Manchester is abysmal! ;)
TBF, I doubt you'd get much change out of any council estate-based side with a team of seven! (For info, Wythenshawe is like paradise compared to Partington). |
|
By:
Ok, maybe I read it wrong. I'm assuming you got beat 23-2?
Fair play for sharing it with us. |
|
By:
no worries :)
Yes 23-2 their keeper scored 3, 2 were penalties. What always amused me about that match was the seriousness with which they treated it. I think we were 15, maybe 16. Partington is a delight. I used to live in Lymm which is pretty much next door. Played some teams in Partington too, the old glass bottles on the pitch syndrome there (probably left by their players on the park sesh the night before!) |
|
By:
I've played all over Manchester for the last 20 years & the only serious injury I ever got was from playing a Partington-based team. All 11-a-side amateur football has its fair share of loons, but Partington took the biscuit. :(

Strangely enough I remember the kid so vividly Id probably recognise him even all these years later, that is making the giant assumption he isnt in prison or dead of course. |
