Honestly if someone can suggest a way of getting all this done and dusted. Tonight. On the tinternet. then i'm there. can't be fked with the crowds. Luton was awful today, and i only went to the p.issing pub. can you buy cr.ap from argos and pick it up the next day? or wednesday or even thursday? can anyonebe bothered to look at their website for sometihing that might amuse a young child for a few hours (lets face it they're gonna get bored of it whatever it is(except a wii) soon enough). And they defo ain't getting a fkin wii.

Rob, yes, you can 'ring and reserve' stuff from Argos - or have it delivered (although I'm not sure if you'll be in time for Christmas now to have it/them delivered).

Just have a browse through the Argos website and then when you've chosen stuff you can enter your location and book which store you want to pick your goods up from - or use the 'phone.

Here you go, Rob [from Argos website]:

"Check & ReserveBeat the crowds to the hottest gifts - check stock and reserve your items so that they're ready and waiting for you in-store.
Check & Reserve is available on all items marked 'Can be reserved'. If in stock, they will be available for immediate collection and held until the end of the next working day.

Did You Know?
...once reserved, your items are available for immediate collection. Any item not in stock at the store today can usually be ordered for you from our warehouse, to collect within 3 working days*.

in the meantime easter.

just found this teamaker thing, but it only seems to make one cup of tea. that's no fkin good. I thought you could get a teamaker that did a whole pot. Any experts around?

Good luck Rob!

It's definitely the best way to shop (online).
I bought my telly from Argos a few months ago and the 'reserve' thing was just the job, plus, I had a couple of computer chairs delivered the next week.
Saves valuable drinking time!

nice one tommy.

regarding "teamakers" is anyone an expert here. i've searched on argos for teamaker and i only get that one item. is that because i am using the wrong words when searching, or are they just out of fashion. They seem very eighties t me, but at the same time they seem a cracking idea, much better than my dad going downstairs in the cold to the kitchen every p.ssng morning just to turn the kettle on. and then wait for it to boil. and then etc etc. when it could be on his bedside table.

just looked under the 2-3yr old section. You can buy a paddling pool for 2.39 ffs. iT might be sh.it but by christ argos can't be beaten for value. no siree.
By:

When: 21 Dec 09 22:56
Sorry Rob, I have no idea about teamakers, but I've just looked at the site and it does look like they only have one.
By:
positively4thsteet
When: 21 Dec 09 23:00
thats what i thought tommy - looks a bit shltt.y too. would feel a bit guilty gettin me dad a teamaker that only made one cup, so my mum still had to go down stairs in the cold and put the kettle on. don't suppose my dad would care though. :)
By:
munch man
When: 21 Dec 09 23:03
if the teamaker idea doesn't pan out, couldn't your pop have the traditional teamaking facilities in the bedroom to save your mum going downstairs? you know, like in a hotel bedroom.
By:
Tommy Toes
When: 21 Dec 09 23:04
Rob, I'd have thought you could just bung another cup in the hole thing after the first cup was made?
The reviews are pretty good from people who've bought one.
By:
positively4thsteet
When: 21 Dec 09 23:10
munch - i suppose i could just get a kettle, but it would be a bit naff. i'm sold by Tommy's theory. I'm gonna get it and if it is sh.t i will just claim ignorance ~(or blame it on a bloke called Toes off the chit chat forum) if it is a success then you will never hear of me again.

:)

Next stop the 8yo nephew? Just seen that you can buy a bag of 100 balls. quirky yes, butI might just buy a couple of bags.

he should get his arris outa bed and make his own tea....concentrate on your 5 nephews and niece........

he prob only drinks coffee anyway.....but i would go along with the gobbling tesmade suggestion if not......about a 25 yr old one...

i didn't mean buy your dad a kettle as a christmas present by the way, just as an option to save you mum having to traipse downstairs.

only getting my dad a present because i drew his name out the hat. we do secret santa - last year i had to buy a present for my brother in law. doesn't bother me, so long as it is only one sodding present.

Rob, be my guest at blaming 'Toes from the forum' if it doesn't work!

They have a very easy returns policy too - so you'll have no problem on getting a refund after Christmas if it doesn't work/isn't suitable (within 30 days):
