Ok, so I think we all knew about Kent on Thursday into Friday...

But tonights severe weather in the home counties seems to have caught many by suprise?

Luton Airport shut? Gatwick closed to de-ice the runway?

Roads in Bucks are nearly impassable?

There's probably a light dusting of snow and a slight chill in the air. That's all it takes to cause chaos in Bucks.

can't get out of her car due to a blizzard

God only knows how people in modern Britain would react if a real blizzard actually hit here.

It was the sensationalist use of the term blizzard that i objected to though

About 6 inches here in South Lanarkshire, over 3 days. Worst I've seen in over 20 years.

"A blizzard is a severe storm condition characterized by low temperatures, strong winds, and heavy blowing snow."

guess she must have popped outdoors to check

Actually had 7 inches (a least) here in rochdale though i live "high up" and must say it's probs most snow i've seen in one dump for about 15-20 yrs or maybe even from 79 ish when there was a horrific winter.

I know it's about 7" as i dipped my c0ck in it earlier and never even reached the shaft, neighbours were a bit terse with me later though

A UK blizzard - "moderate or heavy snow" combined with a mean wind speed of 30 mph (48 km/h) and visibility below 650 feet (200 m)

My guess is the home counties have experienced nothing more severe than a heavy snow shower.

Think what would happen if a Canadian blizzard hit the home counties :D

Canada blizzard - winds of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more, have snow or blowing snow, visibility less than 500 feet (150 m), a wind chill of less than −25 °C (−15 °F), and all of these conditions must last for 3 hours or more before the storm can be properly called a blizzard

Not at all is just the way people sensationalise everything that irks.

Tonight's weather forcaster said it would be "incredibly cold" and then put up a graphic with -3°C as the lowest minimum.

if the uk was warmer , sunnier , we would be a much happier lot of people all round. the weather is crap . we all feel crap. not good ....having said that , if it was 90 degrees everyday we would all be sat outside pubs doing nothing . ...spotted a flaw here .
