FEAR was an awesome track.,. i really like some of his solo stuff
By:
always remember me best song on the new album
By:
His albums are ok, but nothing special, his live performance a couple of years ago were truly awful. I left half way through. Not sure wy he persists tbh, he must know it is not his best.
By:
I like all his solo albums
By:
Stone Roses probably my favourite band , the first album is the best ever, but just cant get into his music.
By:
Just listening to his greatest hits...with a cup of tea. Good effort from the lad to be fair.
By:
Stone Roses and The smiths were both great bands but Morrissey would get my vote over Ian Brown as the better solo artist.
By:
^^ agree
By:
Corpses in the mouth is my fav song
heard it live as well quality shame hardly anyone else knew the song |
By:
he has some great solo tunes, but not a great album.
my star what happened to ya golden gaze dolphins were monkeys getting high love like a fountain FEAR northern lights whispers kiss ya lips (no ID) not much since then though. not liked much on his last 2 albums. an honourable mention must go to his cover of billie jean aswell. |
By:
Yeah, Golden Gaze is the (NB) after Corpses which gets the (NAP) Guess he had such sick times with Roses he doesn't deserve any further adulation.
By:
Saw him in Leeds last Friday. Amazing, has a realyy good rapport with the audience, not like he was when the roses were together. The crowd adore him and having spoken to people who have met him he has all the time in the world for his fans. Top bloke imo.

Corpses and My Star are both very good, and F.E.A.R. is wonderful, if a tad nonsensical.
A massive caveat though, is that everyone who I've spoken to about his live performances thought he was rubbish. |
By:
Always disliked him. Prerogative of age.
By:
The roses remixes are better than the originals, sound totally original even now!!
By:
He was bood off stage in Scotland. In Preston he was tolerated but they chanted for him to do roses sets and he did towards the end.
I went to Manchester G Mex and he was awful, thought the whole setup was a disaster, the seating, the bar the toilets the sound just about everything. Add to this that he was poor also and it was a night best forgotten. Agree about the remiixes, a work of art initself. |
By:
nearly ran over him last year....idiot stepped in front of my car in kensington....just stopped in time and he looked and snarled at me
By:
golden gaze - track & vid is brilliant
By:
iv seen him several times
twice in brum few times in london i remember the brum one, he got on stage about an hour late because of "sound issues" everyone was pelting him, he told them to stop and walks off.... crowd announcement and he soon comes back first song in was i wanna be adored to obviously please the crowd, obvious there was still sound issues.... bang a pint right on his head...... he goes mental.... saw the person who did it and made sure they got thrown out or the gig was off........ however that was the only night i heard corpses and being my fav night i was pleased :-) |
By:
I seen him a couple of weeks ago in Sheffield and he was really good and his new album is brilliant, his best of the 4 i have anyway.
By:
Terrible singer, but fantastic frontman & songwriter. Great live show. Plus, apart from The World Is Yours, every album has been pretty good.
Favourite songs = Longsight M13, FEAR (UNKLE remix), All Ablaze, My Star, Solarized & Sweet Fantastic |
By:
Nearly gave up on him when he did that track about the iraq war with sinead o connor.
F.E.A.R has to be his standout track followed by corpses and cant see me. The live shows can be a bit hit and miss,so much better when reni, mani and squire were there to back him up. |
By:
Roses were legends his work a little hit and miss FEAR is an all time classic though.

funny interview from a couple of years ago |

By:
''My kids laugh at me when I tell them about life when I was 14. They say "Go on dad, tell us again". There was no Walkmans, videos, Nintendo or Xboxes, no internet, no mobiles. No computers. No DVDs. There were only three TV channels. They cry laughing. But it made us hungry and thoughtful. And we had great things like the Sex Pistols.
We're breeding a generation who won't invent anything. They've got everything. They're stimulated all day and they're never bored. I think there should be an hour of total boredom every day for all kids."'' |
By:
The Stone Roses did very little for me at the time.
Brown's Solarized and Music of the Spheres albums are more satisfying experiences for me. |
By:
Usually, not my type of music, but have to agree that he's a great singer and songwriter. Not ashamed to say I'm in possession of several of his albums.
By:
Saw him live at Folkestone a few years back, he was truly awful, cant sing at all and was really disappointing. Jumped off the stage to fight someone in the crowd too.
Shame because the Stone Roses were so good |
By:
I really wanted Brown to be a good solo artist but has not worked out for him and I think he should pack it in. He is a good artist and Stone roses were great but his singing was always a little suspect
By:
Ian Brown is one of my favourite artists. The Stone Roses were the right band at the right time for me. His solo stuff has been ok each album has a couple of cracking tunes. I think the fact he has evolved and kept going over the last twelve years is a credit to him.

absolute fool. hate him with a passion. a wannabe hard man.
he got sent to prison for threatening a stewardess and has just been done for beating his wife. there is also footage of him beating someone who has the temerity to get on stage with him. what the footage shows is brown doing nothing and sh**ing himself until his security get there, put the guy down and then he puts boot in when 5 on 1. i would love to see him snarl at me. few people inspire this level of hatred in me but he does. done some great songs tho.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Pf1rMtEqo0 oh yeah. he also went to a posh grammar school.... |

By:
Had a ticket to watch him in manchester this saturday but ended up disgracing myself on the drink thursday night and all day friday. I lose.
