In a small Welsh town.

Literally seconds after the c u n t robbed me of £30 and punched me I saw a police officer.

We drove around for a while but couldnt find the suspect anywhere. I went to the station and answered a few questions - the usual claptrap.

I recieved a phonecall early the following morning from a police officer saying that the suspect had struck again after he mugged me and robbed a girl my age aswell.

A few weeks later and after several hundreds of miles travelling back and forth, we both identified him and I was looking forward to seeing him punished for his cowardly behavior.

The CPS didnt want to know and the case was dropped.

Lastnight the same guy glassed a man who is now permemently blind in one eye and has a scar on his face which looks like he was mauled by a Tiger.

Great stuff hey?

Why take a long and expensive case to court, when the justice system can milk motorists much more easily?

Yes Gary.

Went home to a small town in my homeland and was mugged.

I was drunk after a great night out and he obviously saw me as an easy target.

To say I was seething when that cop rang me to say the case was dropped would be an epic underestimation.

Muggers will never pick on me.

They're cowards, so they pick on small nerdy types, drunks or old ladies, small drunk nerdy types, or drunken old ladies.

Mr Eboue, I'm not supporting Big Charlie in this. (If he ever needs any support he can bleedin well get one from the chemist like Orioles does.)

However, in his usual meek and reticent fashion, Charlie has pointed out one of the rules of life. Don't get rat-arsed if you can't handle the company you might find yourself in.

Charlie, and I quote, asked you a question: [i]You can't put up a fight ?[/]
By failing to resist some twunt who might well have been unarmed you've left yourself open to feeling depressed and ashamed for the rest of your life. What would have happened if the mugger had demanded you drop your keks and bend over? Would you have fought back then?

There are some occasions when your money isn't worth fighting for. When well outnumbered or well out-armed, for example. There are also times when going down fighting is better than living in shame, such as being raped or allowing someone else to be raped. (I'm talking about men here, I don't expect that standard from women or children.)

You've only yourself to blame here, mate. Yes, nobody should have mugged you. But you shouldn't still be fretting after a year.

Get yourself down the gym and learn to box. Boxing is probably one of the worst forms of self-defence but it teaches you not to be afraid of fighting and also how to continue after receiving a blow.

Good luck, mate, put last year behind you and walk into the new year with confidence. Don't let one mistake ruin your life.

PS to Big Charlie.

Nobody will ever tell you to drop your keks. I've seen your picture. :^0

Mind you, your lass is pretty. You must have a good personality. ;-)

See you at Chelters. I'm bringing Tommy. (Tommy doesn't know that yet...)
By:

My lass is pretty because she is pretty, I've got taste. Apart from the fact she's 15 years younger than me, she likes a man to look, and act, like a man should look and act.

When I'm dead, pretty boys neeed not apply for the vacancy :^0

Looking forward to Cheltenham and meeting you Bill, and drag that old inebriate Toes along with you. Just dangle a giant roast spud in front of him and he'll follow you to the ends of the earth.

Billkiller usually one of the best reads on the forum - but this came across as daft! Is he supposed to do a pre beers reccy of his intended route for the rest of the night?!?!? Most people would never leave the house to go for a drink if they applied this logic.

You've only yourself to blame here, mate. Yes, nobody should have mugged you. But you shouldn't still be fretting after a year.

The original post came across more that Mr E was p!ssed off that the guilty party had struck again when it could have been avoided if he had rightly been banged up. Not that Mr E was still waking up screaming in the middle of the night about the experience.

I've twice got involved with toerags praying on people where others walked past, heading home after a few beers, as I always applied BC's logic that best to live with the consequences than wake up feeling ashamed. However, after a certain amount of alcohol it obviously affects your balance and your reflexes and it doesn't matter how much bravado, adrenalin or testosterone is pumping through your veins. One time I ended up with a dozen stitches half an inch from my eye which I could have lost, and the other with a few small stanley knife cuts to the stomach and arms. It certainly makes you think twice about doing it again, and on a slightly different note you become a bit more aware of your own mortality when you have young kids to support.
