Report Birchola • December 18, 2009 10:30 PM GMT
Yes. If Saddam was hung, the same punishment should be administered to both Blair and Bush imo.

Whooa there - we do it the other way here, innocent until proven guilty.
Start with trial by jury first - then a long jail sentence.

my hatred for this person knows no bounds.

responsible for the demise of this once great land in the last 12 years.
Report cooperman • December 19, 2009 9:52 AM GMT
Only if he is made to serve his sentence in an Iraq prison. That should wipe the smile off his dial. X-(
Report bigpoppapump • December 19, 2009 9:58 AM GMT
What has he done that is illegal?

that we know about:

declared war on a sovereign Nation with no UN mandate.

He was certainly in charge at a time when we were allowing the US to use British territory for rendition of enemy combatants in their "War on terror". As these people were subsequently subjected to torture this is also a breach of international law [illegal by any reasonable definition], Tony Blair, as our Prime Minister is ultimately responsible for these crimes against these people's human rights

there'll be other stuff.
Report bigpoppapump • December 19, 2009 10:00 AM GMT
I dont think he should hang [I dont believe capital punishment can ever be right] but he's got a lot of blood on his hands, has broken laws, and can reasonably be expected to do time.

He's no better than some of the former-Yugoslav Warlords that we've been keen to pursue. It's just the case that he happens to be one of ours.
Report positively4thsteet • December 19, 2009 10:08 AM GMT
It's normally about this time that someone jumps to blair's defence by listing Thatcher's misdemeanours.

someone do the honours.
Report 718 • December 19, 2009 10:19 AM GMT
Thaycher for all, and there were a lot, her faults could not hold a candle to Blair for outright, barefaced lying.

I'd love to see him jailed, just love it.
Report TELL DEL • December 19, 2009 10:35 AM GMT
Would love to see him jailed as well, hate the bloke, the legality of it will always be questionable.

Saddam Hussein was going to be removed, sooner or later. Plans were in motion. The justification would come later........and years later Liar Blair still can't justify it.
Report cunnybobbler • December 19, 2009 10:37 AM GMT
trouble is most politicians would have done exactly the same thing. and rather alot of people dont see or dont want to see that the people who run the uk, america, israel etc are just as "evil" as the terrorists they keep bleating on about. propoganda is a pretty powerful tool.
Report wit-ham • December 19, 2009 10:44 AM GMT

War crimes only apply to the side that lost

People often bang on about victor's justice, but I'd rather see the crimes committed by one side punished than those of neither.
Report bix • December 19, 2009 12:13 PM GMT
You only have to look at Blair now to see that he's paying for his actions and lies. He has aged dramatically and has a constant haunted look and that arrogant grin went some time ago.
However, he's so well connected that there's no hope that he'll ever be brought to justice and be made to stand up and account.
Report redrich • December 19, 2009 12:18 PM GMT
yes and he should be put in the nonces wing
Report HH Sultan Vinegar • December 19, 2009 12:25 PM GMT
he deceived the commons and the country. this for a PM should equate to treason and treason still, I believe carries the death sentence.
