The infamous Arbeit Macht Frei sign at the entrance to the Auschwitz Nazi death camp in Poland has been stolen.
The wrought iron sign, whose words mean "Work Sets You Free", was unscrewed and pulled down from its position above the gate in the early hours of Friday.

Police have asked the City of Liverpool to account for their whereabouts at the time of the theft
It'll probably turn up above an Amazon fulfilment warehouse entrance somewhere ... heard those places are a ** to work in in the run up to Christmas !
Probably some students on the** with a prize for "best item stolen". beats traffic cones I think
It was taken down by the council trading standards department because it's false advertising.
