Yes sir, you can. Take it into Adobe photoshop and you can change the contrast too.

FF on video? Take a photo at 1/30 second. But it's much better quality from DVD-to-computer.

"VLC player" - look it up - freebie media player that has a 'snapshot' thingybob in the menu, takes a snot of whatever's on screen.
