''I loved when Bush came out and said, 'We are losing the war against drugs' You know what that implies? There's a war being fought, and the people on drugs are winning it''

the above post demonstrates why hicks is vastly overrated.

Bill Hicks is dead yet Alan Carr lives on. Where's the justice?
Report Dutchy Schwarz • December 16, 2009 10:20 PM GMT
Btw, can't believe that he would've only been 48... would've thought it to be closer to 55. Died too young.

Think his stock is inflated due to his early death.
Report Brodie • December 16, 2009 10:33 PM GMT
I'm not so sure. Funny is funny imo, I can't laugh because at the back of my mind I know the comic died young. It doesn't draw a laugh. Dying young can make a musicians lyrics more poignant and thus become more popular ,but make a comic's material funnier ? Nah.

Hicks famously told an interviewer: "I have a scoop for you. I stole his [Leary's] act. I camouflaged it with punchlines, and to really throw people off, I did it before he did."[29

:)

Bill Hicks is the truth baby, Consult yourself for the truth and dont place your faith in propaganda organs of corrupt governments! "Going from the cradle to the grave without experiencing the physchdelic experience is like going from the cradle the grave without ever experiencing sex"!!! Yeah baby his energy and message lives on strong
Report Tevez is God • December 17, 2009 12:44 AM GMT

what are you trying to say Tev?
Report Brodie • December 17, 2009 12:52 AM GMT
Look him up mate. Some of his stuff could be viewed as prophetic as

regards war and politics etc, if it wasn't for the fact that the same old story

has been played out by similar characters with similar names ! :D

I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here.

"I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs."
"I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking."

"Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!"

"Shut up! Go back to bed, America. Your government is in control. Here's Love Connection. Watch this and get fat and stupid. By the way, keep drinking beer, you fecking morons."
