get on the antivastins like lipitor. no need to worry wot you eat then
Report V4 Vendetta • December 15, 2009 7:15 PM GMT
Agree with sib. Do your exercise and the rest makes little difference (including ingesting eggs and cholesterol).

same here rr,in the end had to go for a medical with my gp to get life insurance with one firm,i asked the gp if things looked bad and he said the company must have more money than sense to pay for me to have a medical on everything i and the gp had said.

I'll have to get mine checked again, its been 18 months since I had it done. Excessive alcohol and heart disease in the family have caused mine as I do eat pretty sensibly.

Statins work, and the side effects side seems benign, but long term, no one knows.

Your body makes its own cholesterol in the liver. Cut down total fat, particularly saturated fat, to below 30 grams a day and take 20 mcg/day of vitamin D.
Report Rampant Rabbit • December 15, 2009 7:30 PM GMT
whats the Vit D supliment called Wur?
Report Early Morning Riser • December 15, 2009 7:31 PM GMT
Only about 25% of cholesterol comes from the foods you eat; the other 75% is produced by your body. For many people with high cholesterol, diet and exercise alone may not be enough.

Erm . . . vitamin D.

Vitamin D, Sunshine.

not in my family, but I go through quite a lot of smornoff and walkers crisps weekly

Holland and Barrett do a 25 mcg. You can get it in the discount 'Semichem' type of shops and supermarkets but probably lower doses.
Report Rampant Rabbit • December 15, 2009 7:36 PM GMT
will try Holland and Barret.. Have only ever gone in there for their yougart covered peanuts in the past

Avoid statins unless you are either obese or over the age of 60.

Eat sensibly for 6 months and take anti-oxidants - should get it back below 5.0 without drugs

people wth high cholesterol live longer than those with low,the research for this scam is all based on bad science and paid for by big pharma- and there is lots of info on the web too

GP`s are totally ignorant of the facts, they are no different from any other group of workers and do just as they are told, their recomendations on stains are a dissgrace-they do more harm than good-
