no idea what the wookie in star wars sounds like.
By:
Possibly dust in the fans.
Try sucking the dust out from the blowhole at the back. Might work. |
By:
ok thanks egg, will try that :)
By:
Or may have to open it up to suck/blow the dust out.
Or may need new fans. Or (worse) the hard drive could be on its way out. Difficult to tell without hearing it. |
By:
fans seem ok once its up and running...but trying to back up stuff in case its the
dreaded hard drive...which is getting on a bit now... thanks again egg and may the force be with you ;) |
By:
this may sound ridiculous but my computer sometimes sounds like that, and if i move it slightly it stops.
By:
its the outer case vibrating for some reason.
By:
I did try and move the case kingL but that didnt help and its clear of anything so...I dont
think its that...it had a new hard drive back in...mmm 2003 so I think it might be on its last legs :D |
By:
That must be a fine machine you are running there. :|
By:
:¦
By:
lol :D
By:
easy enough to rule yer fans in or out...with comp up and running stick your finger in the blades of the fans, one at a time to stop the fan briefly...if noise goes away there's yer answer, if not then could be hdd on it's way out...
By:
mmm... that sounds a bit scarey, I think I'll get hetty on the case tomorrow and go from there...
By:
don't be a g@yer...it doesn't hurt and you'll at least have a start point...get on with it man.
By:
CG has delicate artist's fingers.
By:
She's also not a man.
By:
lol ok swearbox I will give it a try...it wont cut my fingers off will it? :|
By:
No! It might hurt briefly but nothing major.
By:
EGG knows....soz for calling you a man GC...and a g@yer...trust me, it won't hurt...if ur concerned get a pen and stick that in..
By:
no worries sb, ok I think a pen would be a better idea..I will try that
