By 'NZ and Aus' he means his bedroom where he can stand in front of the mirror telling himself he is loved by someone somewhere.

just waiting for t'missus to get the all clear following a recent op- then its off to escape the winter blues- we stay in Aukland with m8s for a few days - sort the car etc- pootle off on an explore- and then meet up with our Kiwi friends for a weeks hols somewhere - its great fun- last time we had 2 houses rented down in the Catlins- amazing place
Report Birchola • December 15, 2009 4:09 PM GMT
Don't believe the hype. NZ is one of the most boring places on the planet and it rains all Summer.
Report lmfao • December 15, 2009 4:11 PM GMT
take my advice:
1. work yr blls off and save like mad for 20 years
2. exploit the pension tax system- i gave up all 40% taxable salary and got it paid in as employers contributions , boosted even more by an additional 12% or so National insurance saving
3. at the earliest opportunity- draw on your pension
4. stop work asap and get out there

Good point it's the same on car boot sale challenge help me raise money sending me nephew to the U.S.A i need £500 well thats fair enough then they go to the house to see whot's worth selling only to find the house is worth a half million stuffed with antiques why not just give them the money you tight**s yet to see a council house or high rise flat

yup - you need the weather

we've spent 2 x extended hols there- last 11 weeks there we had 4 x 2/3 days heavy rain- and much much more wall to wall sunshine - and thats north and south islands

if you are bored with n.z. you are bored with life- its just magnificent country
Report Birchola • December 15, 2009 4:16 PM GMT
Beautiful but boring.
Report lmfao • December 15, 2009 4:19 PM GMT
no Thinly Veiled about it Birch - totally correct- we lived for 20 years in a much smaller house than we needed to and spent less than half our household income

still managed to get to Hawaii- Maui / 2 x hols each year - Greekophiles- S.E.Asia - China- Malaysia/Thailand/ cruised Nile twice/Africa- Wembley many times - Wimbledon Finals etc

Life is good!

Earn it here- Spend it overseas

Pensions..always presuming you live long enough to draw it...
Report batman50 • December 15, 2009 4:32 PM GMT
He probably is an old guy already
Report lmfao • December 15, 2009 4:33 PM GMT
pension - imo draw it asap- dont wait- - imo its well worth drawing your dosh asap- even if you continue working whilst in receipt of pension- then you can recycle even more pension earnings into more pension for when you stop working - which should be well before age 60

unless of course you are defined by your work- in which case - being a pompous person who needs to be defined by what he does- your ego will not allow you to retire.

Remember- the day you walk out the door- you are yesterdays news.

Property and Betfair. Hope this helps.
Report lmfao • December 15, 2009 4:52 PM GMT
Betfair - yes - agreed -tho that can be seen as working

How/ where can i get a long term 'guaranteed' 13% net of tax rate of return on property???

I'd be very grateful for the info
Thanks.
Report Birchola • December 15, 2009 4:54 PM GMT
Feck guaranteed. This that are guaranteed offer low returns. Bigger the risk the bigger the returns.

I dont wanna be waiting another 20 years before I give up work.
Report lmfao • December 15, 2009 4:55 PM GMT
so - you cant then- pity.

You really havn't got this , have you?
Report Birchola • December 15, 2009 4:56 PM GMT
You've already lived possibly two thirds of your life without living it to its fullest by taking the safe option.

I dont wanna do the same. Get that.
Report lmfao • December 15, 2009 4:57 PM GMT
i'm telling you that you can get a guaranteed 13% net of tax return - fixed for life - by paying money into a company pension - with your employers co-operation, of course.
Report batman50 • December 15, 2009 4:58 PM GMT

Report lmfao • December 15, 2009 5:00 PM GMT
batman- the markets are now only 15% below their very best

i'm sure you understand that with £ cost averaging - the real rate of return on monies invested over the past 3-5 years is positive - you have not lost- whats the prob?
Report Birchola • December 15, 2009 5:03 PM GMT
Pensions, shmensions. Too much of a long term waiting game. It's all about fast money these days.
