Okay. Let's put this to bed.
The film is unconnected to any other scarecrow related film that has been mentioned in the last few weeks.
It is simply a film that I have seen and many people have seen.

I am going to post some clues, which I have revised for extra clarity.
I will also add actual pictures from the film and some more clues on a sporadic basis.

Apologies to anyone who has had enough of scarecrows being violently attacked etc. I post this for two reasons
a- Out of respect for those who have already spent time trying to solve this and who deserve a solution
b-To prove I am not lying when I say that this film exists.

Punterfleecer has requested I don't post the answer on Christmas Eve so I'll post it before then. I'd much rather somebody worked it out.

Let's try not to get bogged down in the ill feeling that arose in another thread.
It's just a bit of lighthearted fun and the actual answer will satisfy most I think.

Goodwill to all. Clues coming up. :)

Clue 1 - The film has a strong connection to something widely reported that happened between November 22nd and December 2nd this year.

Clue 2 - It has the name of a 1980s popstar in the title. (Technically one letter of the popstar's spelling is different)

Clue 3 - Fozzie Bear's description of this clue ( see http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=15440435 ) is actually more accurate than the original. He said 'theres a link to outer space in the title although the film is not sci fi'
Much better clue.

Clue 4 - The film title quite obviously changes a number for something intangible.

Clue 5 - The film's second most famous scene involves levitation and cheap jewellery

Clue 6 - It has a girl's name in the title.

Clue 7 - The film features dance sequences and weaponary that neither stabs or shoots.

Clue 8 - Specific scenes are extremely well known, although the full film was successful when it came out

Clue 9 - It has a great cast

Clue 10 - Its director and star are popular and prolific and its star is particularly known.

Clue 11 - It has a great soundtrack

Clue 12 - The scarecrow gets attacked by a smaller person in a violent scene. (Not to be confused with any film where a scarecrow gets attacked by a larger person on a small person's behalf).

Clue 13 - The film title starts with letter A, ends with E and has more than four words in it

Clue 14 - No number in the title (or any number in word form etc)

Clue 15 - Features one of the most famous flying sequences in the history of film but your parents probably haven't seen it

Clue 16 - Something in the film is SILVER when it should be very obviously more valuable

Clue 17 - The film was made before 1982 (Blackjackking's birthday guess)

I'll post a screencap later today.

Okay that's the first three pictures.
I'll add three per day till somebody gets it, hopefully we'll be done and dusted by the weekend.
The pics are full screen pics but my capping method squashes them a bit.
But nothing is editted out and each day they will be easier to identify the film.

Clue 3 is still not quite right. the rest are fine
New Clue 3 - There are three references to sci fi or to fantasy in the film title.
Clue 1, 3 and the one about SILVER are slightly cryptic but the rest are straightforward.

That's not a scarecrow, that's a tramp!
Report Journeyman • December 9, 2009 7:40 PM GMT

Will post three pics of the Scarecrow on 'Scarecrow Saturday' unless it's solved in next 2 days.

Clue 18 : The original soundtrack was not as good as the soundtrack the film later acquired which was more experimental and considered very influential and ahead of its time.

Clue 19 : There are actually TWO girls' names in the title! One is the slightly misspelled name of an eighties popstar who was in two successful bands (big clue). The other girls name is spelled correctly.

Yes i did come on this thread to show you up for the hi-jacking to$$er you are, i started this thread initially and you have kidnapped it with your little girl petty mind games because you were wrong, wrong & wrong to the max. What a fool you must have felt and feel.
I am in no way stalking you, i am excercising my right, as a fully funded forumite, to express my opinions when & wherever i please just as you did on my threads.
I pity you in a way that you have to reinforce your weak self esteem by trying to demean other forum users.

'Scarecrow Saturday'

P.S. The comment i made above was justified, you promised every forumite a so called "scarecrow saturday" that came and went. You also allowed your thread to disappear from the main list. What kind of management is that?, bear in mind that some forumites may not know how to put these threads back to the top. Personally i don't really care what the answer to your over cooked film puzzle is, but i'm sure there are others who would like to know. I strongly believe that you are purposely making other forumites suffer as you persue your pathetic vendetta against me over a comment i made on a previous thread aimed at a man who urinated on a war memorial (which was very wrong by the way).
I suggest you retract your "answer guaranteed" statement and apologise to everyone you have wound up, replace it with:
"I, Journeyman, am a vindictive childish person who does not like Jugador Mejor therefore my schoolgirl pride will never allow me to reveal the answer to my long winded film puzzle", with your apology.
Then you have put the thread to bed for good, let it die.

Come on now, I'm sure you've had greater disappointments Blckjacking ;)

I did think that the forum would get it a little quicker but all that was needed was a bit of outside the box thinking.
Yes it's World Cinema but it's quite well known in cult film circles (along with the Turkish Star Wars).

You know yourself from your quiz that the forum is supposed to be quite good at films.

It just needed some fresh/lateral thinking to solve it. Once Nice1 worked out
the angle it was always going to be a matter of time before it was solved really.
Report tobermory • December 15, 2009 2:09 AM GMT
Cult Films are almost invariably rubbish.

I was a bit annoyed as i thought of Pepsi & Shirley for the Pop Music Q but would never have helped me as never heard of this Film . 'Well Known in Turkey' is not the same as 'Well Known' imo.
