i always add a splash of balsamic vinegar to mine , and plenty of potatos
|

I always brown the meat first to add flavour. Use cheap cuts of meat and cook for as long as you can at a lower temp.

Nah, I've become really averse to stuff with artificial chemicals, like hydrolysed vegetable protein, MSG, food dyes etc. I think they cause a lot of ill health.

You have a steak, don't compliacate things. Heat the pan, add some butter, wait till the pan is steaming then add the steak, don't touch the steak until 1 min then turn it and add some onions and mushrooms. Cook for 1 min, let the steak settle for two minutes and serve with some mustard. |
|
By:
Proper steak should be ate with little accompanients and quickly at a high heat to enjoy the meat The cheaper cuts should be the ones that are cooked longer.

Proper steak should be ate with little accompanients and quickly at a high heat to enjoy the meat That's interesting. My mum is a brilliant cook - everything from roasts to fry-ups to apple pies - and she often served steak with lots of other food: ***** mushrooms, onions, tomato, coleslaw and, most importantly, HP Sauce. |

Shrewd Dude knows his steak, cooked quickly at a high heat with onions and mustard is all you need.
