Should be abolished in my opinion.

It's been controversial since it was introduced about twenty-five years ago. The play again option works just fine.

Agree. Always struck me as harsh. So often it gives much too big an advantage.

Brought in to stop Reardon going round the back of a red near the top cushion and returning to baulk when he had 14 others in the pack to aim at. Had the crowd in his pocket, Whooo! so close.

That maybe true, Speedy, but I still contend that leaving things as they were (having the option to make Ray play again) is better than the miss rule.

once the break has been made, nobody should be picking up balls, that are in play, off the table and moving them to near where they might have been before. stupid rule. if the ref thinks a player is delibrately missing then he should pull him up about it.

They have just had an interview on BBC1 with Jan Verhaas about the incident last night. Steve Davis said that the head referee did not make a mistake in not calling a miss after Ronnie had accidentally touched the red with his hand.

Unfortunately, they did not mention the fact that Jan moved the white after Ronnie called a foul on himself. This was the mistake in my opinion.
