I want to spend a week self catering in England /Wales next summer. Criteria as follows;

Small town - with pubs/restaurants (preferably that allow dogs)
Beach - where dogs are permitted.
Not too touristy, but with good walks.

Any help appreciated.

I've stayed there three times and loved it every time. It's a few miles from Barnstaple in North Devon and it's close to lots of lovely places, including beaches.

I've been there in February and November, when the dogs are allowed on the beaches, but their access to beaches is restricted during the summer.
