I loathe and look down upon the lot of them.

Unless it's me being cynical, at which point it becomes entirely justifed and the only rational option

Cynicism is the lack of trust in humans and their nature. For that you need intellect and life experience.
Draw your own conclusions.
As Satre said "l'enfer est les autres". Hell is others (people).

I am 51.
You would describe me as cynical.
I like to describe myself as a very good judge (most of the time).
I'm a very good judge because I've been judging things for nearly 40 years.

Cynicism (Greek: Kõíéóìüò) originally comprised the various philosophies of a group of ancient Greeks called the Cynics, founded by Antisthenes in about the 4th century BC. The Cynics rejected all conventions, whether of religion, manners, housing, dress, or decency, advocating the pursuit of virtue in a simple and unmaterialistic lifestyle.

By the 19th century, emphasis on the negative aspects of Cynic philosophy led to a new and very different understanding of cynicism to mean an attitude of jaded negativity, and a general distrust of the integrity or professed motives of other people. Modern cynicism, as a product of mass society, is a distrust toward professed ethical and social values, especially when there are high expectations concerning society, institutions and authorities which are unfulfilled. Cynicism can manifest itself as a result of frustration, disillusionment, and distrust perceived as due to organizations, authorities and other aspects of society, and thus is roughly equivalent to a substantive form of the English word "jaded".

Well you have called me boring further up this thread.
If I was to call someone boring I would like to make sure that my own life would be fantastically interesting and that I would appear to be exciting and dynamic.
I just asked how your exciting and dynamic persona manifested it self in your daily life.

31. Sadly neither here nor there.

Youthful enthusiasm can sometimes be perceived as wise. So can the odd cynical outburst. As with most things, it probably depends what you are actually saying.
