No seriously, what are friends for?

Are friends actually friends when they blow you out after hooking up and having kids? I thought I had great mates until women and kids got in the way!

It's when it all goes tits up with your partner and you need people to fall back on - this is when you find out who your friends really are.

No, not at all CB - just an example of a situation where a bond of friendship still exists even if recent contact has been less than you would have liked because of the time a relationship and kids can take up.

The saying "You can't choose your family but can choose your friends" is a good one imo.

interesting, I find this odd, if my "friend" only came back to me when his family life falls apart then I would not consider them to be a friend anyway!!

imvho

Didn't mean it like that Sid - just sometimes it isn't always possible to have as much contact with people as you would ideally like, can be stuff like needing to work long hours as much as relationship issues. For both parties to understand this and 'be cool' about it and realise it doesn't mean you think any less of each other, is what I am getting at. Not like when someone wins the lottery and suddenly 'friends' who they have not heard of for ages suddenly start to get in touch!

A friend is someone who will give you an alibi when you're accused of playing away from home, even if you are.

A friend is somebody that will stand by u through thick and thin. Be there as a listening ear if u need it through tough times.

A friend will go into a brothel, pay for two BJs, then come home and give you one.
