Super show. Oval how's things going in NI. Heard some things about linfield v glens on boxing day. Something about ticket prices..... what the hell was that about mate?

Best version was the closure of Tommytoes pub. I forget who done that now.

Its £10 into the games at the Oval but you can sit or stand for that price. There's enough seats for everyone at our average home gate. On Boxing day the crowd swells to 12,000 and the Glens normally reduce the price for terracing to £8 as there aren't enough seats.
This year the Glens tried to add £2 to the price stating extra security charges. Linfield took the hump saying they wouldn't supply tickets at that price and the Glens backed down. I can see both sides of the argument but back my own side. We don't have a choice to stand when we go to windsor yet we have to pay the full amount. We aren't funded by the IFA yet the first time we try and claw some extra cash off the bloomen they cry foul. Maybe if we got some of the £550k IFA funding we wouldn't feel so hard done by. |

Treble is referring to Sparky's masterpiece: The Downfall of Tommy Toes.

Although from NI mate, although not a massive fan of the NI footb all scene, it does seem linfield are given the golden treatment.
Massive funding, the stadium etc. For 2 quid ffs, whats the problem. I agree with principles etc. But security considerations arent just blind "take the**" type charge. Chances are something always goes down at those games. Are you a big glens man, oval? Have a few mates who are. We have good banter but not in a footie sense if you know what i mean hahaha. Especially in a NI sense |

Until last season I would never have missed a game, this season I've hardly been. We play the bloos tomorrow in a meaningless cup, we play them too often imo but its good craic and a decent day out. Most of my mates go to the Oval so most of my social life is based around the Glens.
