in a £2.30 placepot.
What would you have done in the last race?
Let it run or place lay on your last selection?

If I get into that position I can't stand to not win something, so I laid it off.
It was unplaced(Argentine) so I get a £70 "consolation"
Makes sense surely?

i tend to let most bets ride. each to their own.

kinda depends how many favs were unplaced in the 1st 5 races, and the place odds for the last horse i suppose.

I think it would depend on the size of the dividend.

it depends, as fen says, how much is still in the pot.

I worked it out that my £2.30 would win me at least £296 if my last selection had been placed.

This is terrible after timing :(

but I backed the winner for a win and place, (it was also Timeform Radios tip) I got lucky as the screen froze and never layed off to get my stake back, which increased the profit. Part of the reason I backed it, apart from Timeform tipping it, was because it was drawn next to Cayman Fox, and that's where the pace should have come from.

I also layed Cayman Fox, a confirmed front runner, for a place at 2.24, as the apprentice Lawson hasn't the strength get it home in a tight finish. But it didn't matter as it totally missed the break.
