Should I publish it?

Street Party
by Mavis Handbag.

The nincompoop pressed his pocket
Into St John's Wort,
A natural aphrodisiac,
Or so he thought.

3 sacks of pepper,
A pencil full of rye
Turned up without their bow-ties
'Tis not known why!

The residents did party
They spilled into the street!
Man, child, animal, boat,
Twas in such joy they did meet!

The party ponce did endeth,
''Salidad!'' came the cry ('Salidad' is Spanish for 'bunion')
They left eating peanuts
And lemonade they did buy (and a jar of pickled onion).

These are really good, Mavis. Much more interesting than Sylvia Plath.

I like Hearts' poem, too. It's one for the Baby Boomer generation.

It's not plagiarism per se - it's an hommage.

Hacksaw handbag, your work sucks
Mansfields tale of love and ducks
Doth put you effort in the shade
Like parasolls on promenade

There was an odd fellow called Mavis
To whom poems were like balls to Steve Davis
He'd go all surreal
add a Pike or an Eel
Then add a last line without rhyming.
