Breathe in and out into a paper bag. It may be an old wives' tale, but it works by increasing your CO2 uptake, which in turn stops the hiccups.

Try looking at whatever is behind you by looking 'over the top of your head' (sort of leaning back, and stretching the neck) this stretches the diaphagm, and sometimes eases hiccups. Don't try too hard though, or you could pull a muscle.

I suffer from hiccups sporadically and they can go on for ages, have never found anything that works well to get rid of them.

Can't answer that itsmyturn though it's fair to say Nick Savva has had phenomenal success with his Westmead string. My Dad and I have had quite a few dogs and the best of the lot was bred from unknowns and cost 400 quid as a pup.
