is it:

a) because they are a truly global bank
b) because the average cost of a call centre to man and work is 1/10th what it is in the uk?

despite what im continually told by the management of HSBC, i think its b.

i just dont get it:

u wouldnt emply a partially blind bloke to drive a bus
u wouldnt emply a wheelchair bound bloke to become a fireman

so why let somebody who cant speak english properly answer the phones to yr english customers?

Like most huge corporations someone who probably earns bundles anyway, has to justify his position by finding methods to 'Save the company money'. Add to this the need for 'Shareholders' (also usually not skint) to reap rewards.

and the fact that banks are a greedy cartel who couldn't give a tinker's cuss for the stuggling customer.

ive just had a 10 minute 'conversation', with a malaysian woman from the fraud prevention department. she wanted to check if a payment i made via switch to the inland revenue, with the reference of my name, was fraudulent.
the thing was, it took me 5 minutes to understand what the feck she was saying and when i did, i then asked her if she thought the transaction was fraudulent, bearing in mind the reference was my name!
still its not just the natives who are thick, i went through the welsh call centre to be told the reason the call was flagged was because it was my first payment to the inland revenue - err, wrong, taffy boy. it s the 8th - they have been made every month since may.

im away to nat west - alledgedly they dont have foreign call centres. thats as good a selling point for a bank account as saying a bank saying cash a cq up to 500 quid and we'll give u 500 quid, absolutely free!!!!
