This a tragedy that could have been avoided, unfortunately those involved (especially the mother) were either too stupid to understand what the possible consequences were, or understood them and chose to ignore them.

Regardless of who was actually breeding the dogs at the house, the family are all complicit in the childs death.

Look at his nasty little face , bet the playground a happier place without him.

Not his fault , it his parents but stand by my assertion

Yes lippy, harsh but (probably) true. Natural selection at it's best, family too rough and too thick to care about the kid - one less chav to grow up and spawn 10 more chavs.

Why did it take the police and animal welfare so long to tell what breed it was?

Was the animal deformed? did the police blow its face off?

According to a policespokeswomen, it took a long time to correctly identify the breed of animal it was and then so asertain its role as an illegal breed.

Lippy, a little pointless trying to persuade you of this, but to make an assumption like that based on the boys appearance is disgraceful stuff.

I maintain(and did 5 years ago when the child was killed in nearby St.Helens) that this is a form of Darwinism in action. These families will eventually die out due to being eaten by their own dogs.

naydam - what sort of DNA test?

Crikey how much differant is one bull terrier to another? She was supposedly breeding them so they were not mongrels in the normal sense, it cant take ages to work out what breed of dog it is.

Having seen the picture of the unfortunate child on the BBC website, I'd suggest that his facial appearance (large forehead, eyes close together) is symptomatic of fetal alcohol syndrome (alcohol abuse by mother during pregnancy stunting growth and development)

The Priest.. on all walks of life there are Bad and very Bad. amongst the good.
You will agree the Priesthood have more than there fair share of badies,
Give me any dog, and I will have it nehaving like a dog should, behave within 3 months,

These are Pit Bulls Bread to savage any other dog it comes across, and now and again little children, the whole of the breed Pit Bulls, should be put down,
As for Stafordshire Bull Terriors, they are great animals in good hands.

the whole family - and any adult that visited their home , saw the dog and had suspicions as to its legality - are all culpable.

The poor little mite.

Methinks theres no need to put any of these dogs down, just sterilise them and stop them breeding - they do seem a pointless dog, with a penchant for killing and no small child is safe
By:
saddo
When: 02 Dec 09 15:46
sterilising the people who want to own such dogs would do more good imo.
