'Anybody in the way will have a good kick' was a popular song for the girls, when we were finally unsegregated in the playground at Infants school.
A dozen or so of the girls in a line would link arms like a row of demented Tiller Girls, and remorselessly bear down on their subject before inflicting various punishments. You have to pay good money for something approaching that today.
Of course, it was all harmless fun and had no bearing whatsoever on my tastes in women later in life.

It's amazing to think back to my early schooldays at the start of the '60s in a rough working class part of Brum. It really didn't pay to be different, and my Irish accent set me apart straight away.
Everyone called me duck egg, because for some reason they thought that was what we ate all the time. My 1st week there I must have had a fight every day, and not always 1 on 1, but when i wouldn't give in, they got fed up trying to beat me.
Although 1 or 2 of the kids would play with me after school or at weekends, not one of them would at school for fear of reprisals.
However out of a class of 35, only 5 or 6 passed the 11 plus, the exam that determined what senior school you went to, and I got into one of the best schools in B'ham :)
Amazing how this thread brought it all back.
