Redrich - shot in the dark with this one ! - do you / did you know of a Julie (may have been Julia) Burnett - probably married now with different surname that lived with her parents at North Street in at least the early 1970's ? Is North Street still there or been knocked down for whatever? Interested to know!

17. The new Mollies Bar - don't take my word for it:
WardysGirl (26-09-2008)
Mollies Bar is a great little bar in the centre of Louth, attached to Olivers bar. Mollies is only open on a Friday and Saturday night making it really something for the weekend!
Despite it being reasonably small and rather difficult to get a drink at times, there is a great atmosphere in Mollies!
The DJ tends to play some cheesy tracks at times, it makes an ideal place for a girls night out, one that i have used for such purpose many times!
With a large dance floor, and a pool table it is difficult to become bored in Mollies! Though if it does get too much for you, there is the walk through which takes you straight into Olivers which is a bit more relaxed over the weekend!
The drinks are reasonably priced and there is no entrance fee at Mollies!

The British population of grey seals is of great international conservation importance and we are fortunate to have a thriving colony on the Lincolnshire coast.
For much of the year the seals are at sea or hauled out on distant sandbanks, but during the winter they come to breed near the dunes on the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve at Donna Nook. The RAF Bombing Range at Donna Nook provides the seals with a relatively disturbance-free site for hauling out. The seals are not the least bit concerned by the planes. Staff at RAF Donna Nook make every effort to make sure that no harm comes to any animal because of military activity. The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust manages Donna Nook as a Nature Reserve with the agreement of the Ministry of Defence.

In 1881 William Boyes opened a small store in Eastborough, Scarborough selling odd lots and remnants from merchants. There was great poverty in the working classes and housewives were even keener for a bargain than they are today. When customers found that they could buy enough material to make a coat or a dress cheaper than anywhere else, they soon spread the word and trade increased to such an extent that William had to look for larger premises.
William rented a large warehouse just off the main street where business continued to grow. By 1886 he purchased further units in Market Street and Queen Street and knocked them into one large store and named it 'The Remnant Warehouse'. Older customers in Scarborough still refer to the shop as 'The Rem'. As time went on William expanded his range and bought other clearance lines from merchants developing the warehouse into a department store.
Business continued to grow and go from strength to strength and in 1910 the expansion of the company started. Today W Boyes and Co Ltd operate thirty-four stores throughout Yorkshire, Humberside, the North East and Lincolnshire.

Anyone who does visit Louth is more than welcome round mine for a cuppa, or we could visit one of the very many pubs nearby.
Redrich - have you mentioned St James church yet??
