I have a ten year old son. I reckon he would love a film making kit, particularly if it does stop start animation stuff, a la Wallace and Gromit. Looked on the internet, not seen anything too exciting.

Any ideas/experiences. Any advice gratefully received.

Kids love guns and catapults, get him an air rifle.

To be fair, he would love that. But no! (We already have one actually, and he is not allowed to use it)

Kids don't read enough - buy a book.
I recommend ''The Downing Street Years'' - a rivetting biography of Lady M.Thatcher

Or the same book by G Brown, much quicker read, due to having so few pages.

Can get good deals on the net for boxing sets - punchbag, fixings, gloves etc. 10 year old nephew loves it.
If he's a more "sensitive type" what about one of those electronics kits - can make all sorts of stuff.
If you asked him, he'd probably say a PS3 though.
