Sounds tricky - I would seek legal advice.
By:
unfortunate, not sure if it is a catch 22 though

dont need a solicitor.....raeson 2 years seperation...get nisi. get absolute...take you 3 months max...i did it...cost you yourself 300 to put in for divorce and then 40 quid further on to get the absolute or something....
By:
There you go.
Simple :) |
By:
obviously you have to have your wife agree to this and get her forms back asap plus no kids involved and finances all sorted..
By:
£25 for a phone call or e-mail is deserving of at least a good beating imho.
By:
Oh.
Not so simple :| |

HRH :D

i noticed they now do 'while you wait' divorces fopr around 49 or something similar.
a solicitors near me on an industial estate work like a tyre and exhaust centre ....cheap prices , fast service albeit a bit clinical lol |

I remember when I went to see a solicitor for the first time to get advice on obtaining a Parental Responsibility Order (This was before the law changed a year or so back and unmarried fathers had bugger all rights). I was told that the initial half hour consultation could be arranged at a discounted £75 - there seemed some genuine distain that I didn't greet this news in a joyous manner.

i have a simple case that i knew my ex would make very complex.
luckily i was able to get legal aid as i was between jobs at the time. |
By:
how can you get legal aid for a domestic case???? tax payers money wasted imho
By:
tax payers money wasted :)
love that old chesnut! divide and conquer innit. the majority are starting to realise what the real waste of taxpayers money is. you should open your eyes and join them. ty |
By:
what do you think it is?????
By:
does the majority of the uk back the war in iraq?
that will cost £20 billion did the majority of the uk back the bailing out of the banks? that to date has cost £74 billion of taxpayers money. how about that for a start? |
By:
BUT your divorce will cost you more in the long run :D

I WANT TO KILL MY SOLICITOR

By:
I love telling clients of my 135 quid +VAT charge out rate.
Fully deserved imo |
By:
As a trainee too haha
By:
Do you say to them 'cogito ergo prende' to make yourself appear even more arrogant?
By:
leave it out
By:
Come the revoloution, some of the partners of Bafflem, Scarem and Fleecem won't be sleeping so well I reckon.
By:
Its a bargain chaps.
If the original poster wants to ** and moan- if you dont want to pay x per hour for a solicitor to handle your divorce. Dont get married and divorced in the first place. All your own doing |
By:
And there rests the case for the defence.
By:
Is that meant to be humour?
By:
Dont get married and divorced in the first place. All your own doing
Oh dear. I'm afraid the quality of new entrants into the law is depressingly low. I blame a lack of bullying at school. |
By:
The statistics show that the vast majority of divorces are caused by one thing.......marriage

Cogito, ergo sum 29 Nov 15:28
I love telling clients of my 135 quid +VAT charge out rate. Fully deserved imo When your rate is £395 + VAT an hour you can boast ( wife told me to type that ) |
By:
cooperman I did it myself too. If it goes to court and you need a barrister the bills will get much bigger. Give them the sack.
By:
HRH The Lager Khan 29 Nov 17:23
And there rests the case for the defence. ======= I think you mean OFFENCE !! |
By:
Cogito, ergo sum 29 Nov 17:22
Dont get married and divorced in the first place. All your own doing I was just about to say the same thing. "A fool and his money are soon parted" sums up 99% of blokes who get married. And the original poster should ask himself this: would he rather give his money to his solicitor or his bítch of a wife? |
By:
How do I become a solicitor?

Had a massive fall out with solicitors my family had dealt with for over 50 years. Charged me a grand for doing virtullay nothing getting most of it wrong and then quitting half way through it.
Best bit was he couldnt understand why I had a problem paying his bill. The argument went on for ages and he spent more time trying to justify his fees than he spent on the work. If anyone knows of a solicitor who can do the job you want in a sensible time span without charging you a fortune please let me know. |

if you have half a brain, representing yourself in almost any case is not the most difficult thing in the world to do...
By:
alright keep your hair on
By:
Trouble is big-game-player most people on here don't possess even half a brain...
