Jay-Jay grew up playing street football in a town called Enugu in southern Nigeria before a lucky break led him to his first club in the lower divisions of the Bundesliga in Germany.

Since then, he has played in three World Cup finals, has twice been crowned the BBC African Footballer of the Year and his favourite food is Bovril.

As a bulgarian - I have true reasons to hate him - we met Nigeria 2 rimes at the world Cups in USA '94 and France '98 - both times we were beaten by them - first time 3-0, second 1-0 and in both nigerian squads played Jay Jay:-)
