how do i open adobe reader files?

so ,if someone sends me a file,do i have to downlad etc before able to read?sorry to sound thick,but trying to access/read a newsletter

is the .pdf file on your pc e.g. sent by e-mail - or are you viewing on a website?

Assuming the latter - it sounds to me as if you need to relate .pdf file types to the Adobe Reader.
I know how to do that on my olde Windows 98 - but there wil be other forumites better with later versions.

Right - so when you click the document your Reader should open automatically.
If you can get to the ''tools' option and open ''file types'' - you can link .pdf to your Reader which should solve your problem. Fingers crossed :)

I have Adobe Acrobat on my computer, but also used to have problems opening files, with only a blank page coming up. I used the 'Search for Updates' facility on it, applied the updates and it's been OK ever since....if that's any help !
