Rolo McGinty....
Giant and Woodenfoot Cops On The Highway.
Two classic albums.
Been playing them today.

Tomorrow it will be The Vapors - New Clear Days (one of my fav ever) and (the nowhere near so good) Magnets.

Yes - I loved the late 70's through to late 80's. :)

I've got 3 of their 12" singles : 'It Will Come', 'Move Me' and 'Well Well Well'. Very good they were as well.

As I recall they had an exotically named producer (Swami somebody) who may well have been Andy Partridge from XTC.

'Get it On' is a top '80s tune.

Saw XTC at De Montfort (or Dunstable Queensway Hall?) on their Drums and Wires tours....

'When you're near me I have difficulty concentrating'...great track.

Have the first three albums but hated Sgt Rock and never went near them ever again!

Woodentops - Love Affair With Everyday Living...a gem

'Sgt Rock' was their worst single.

'Drums and Wires' was terrific, possibly eclipsing 'Go 2' as their best early record.

Check out 'Skylarking' from 1986, their finest album IMHO, and I've got them all.

saw the woodentops twice at the marquess supporting friends again both times.
also saw the vapors at durham university. vapors sadly remembered for turning japanese when the follo up single news at ten was far better. magnets isnt a particularly good album but silver machines is a good track and also galleries for guns which was b side to spiders and appears on revamped cd version.
