Ill give you a fiver if you can tell me where Sri Lanke is.
the Sri Lankan forces most probably used the "aid" money to bomb the tamil's into submition
its a very small charity - with no admin costs - the child gets his/her own bank account and draws the money each month - there are checks on them when the people who run this go to sri lanka - at their own expense
WHAT CAN YOU BUY FOR £5 ?
In the late 60s :
A packet of 10 cigarettes - 2 shillings and sixpence
entrance to local cinema for you and your chick - 6 shillings
fish and *****- 4 shillings
10 gallons of 5 star petrol £2 and 10 shillings
leaving £1/17s/ 6d to fack about in the Kursaal at Sarfend all night.
