So far I've heard quite a few laughable alternatives to the normal accepted pronounciation, including :
**erMUTH
CUCKermouth
and, Ye Gods, I even heard
CUCKerMUTH
Curiously, whenever you hear the locals being interviewed, they quite calmly pronounce it**erMOUTH. What on earth is preventing the overpaid hordes of chimps with microphones from doing the same?
Quite frankly I haven't heard such flagrant over-use of the letter 'U' since the halcyon days of the former European Number One golfer CULLIN MUNTGUMMERIE
That's a very good point RLKP. I'm pretty sure the BBC News Channel offers that service where they have a man on screen doing a sign language version of the news. I will try and check that out later.
