So far I've heard quite a few laughable alternatives to the normal accepted pronounciation, including :

**erMUTH

CUCKermouth

and, Ye Gods, I even heard

CUCKerMUTH


Curiously, whenever you hear the locals being interviewed, they quite calmly pronounce it**erMOUTH. What on earth is preventing the overpaid hordes of chimps with microphones from doing the same?

Quite frankly I haven't heard such flagrant over-use of the letter 'U' since the halcyon days of the former European Number One golfer CULLIN MUNTGUMMERIE

how do they translate it in sign language on the deaf channel, thats what i want to know...

That's a very good point RLKP. I'm pretty sure the BBC News Channel offers that service where they have a man on screen doing a sign language version of the news. I will try and check that out later.
