The situation in Cumbria should hardly be discussed under "chit chat", but here we go....
The situation we are witnessing on the news is heartbreaking. There will be people there who will be homeless for months, doubtless there will be many without insurance, out of work and as a consequence financially emberassed. Xmas will be cancelled for lots of people, with children not even in their own homes when Santa calls.
I wish to canvass forumnites with a view to authourising Betfair to deduct say a tenner from our accounts and by so doing triggering off a crisis appeal for the area. There are constantly appeals for other nations. How about looking after our own?
Prior to contacting BF I would like to have peoples views and opinions.

Do you know what percentage of people flooded out do not have insurance ?
I'll probably be donating via other channels tbh, rather not use bf funds as I prefer to keep them separate from normal money

Pompol, good and valid point which I obviously don't know. There are lots of ppl who don't take out even travel insurance. I know it could be viewed as self inflicted, but don't kick em when they are down. Respect your opinion though. Judging by the first replies it will probably be a non starter.
