Jesus was born on Jan 6th .
Ive never understood why they moved it because of the introduction of a new calendar in the Dark/Middle ages .
Report the butterfly collector November 22, 2009 9:58 AM GMT
jan 6th makes much more sense. then we could buy xmas presents in the sales

Christians stole it of the Pagans,Mid Winter Festival was going long before they came on the scene.
Report Tony Broke November 22, 2009 11:31 AM GMT
correct, christmas has nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus, catholics, similar to their sunday as the sabbath nonsense, stole the day, sunday after the roman sun god because theyre basically anti semitic and dint want to have the same true sabbath day as them, christmas is just an out and out pagan festival...yet many so called ministers dont look into these things...true christnans shouldn't really celebrate the day at ll but its so difficult where kids are involved..it d be a bit miserable to sit there with ur kids and offer no presents, no christmas tree, christmas dinner or even fairy lights....the catholics havea lot to answer for..they basically lie about the bible and offer all kinds of man made traditions and try to sell it as religion
Report Bamboo November 22, 2009 11:35 AM GMT
so at the end of the day who are the biggest liars?
Report digdeep November 22, 2009 11:44 AM GMT
Anyone who claims to have all the answers imo.
Report Bamboo November 22, 2009 11:47 AM GMT
Really we are celebrating the birth of the lord jesus christ who was born under a virgin birth from mary(Joseph had nothing to do with it)

midwinter festivals were common in northern europe, and elsewhere, long before the semitic religions destroyed european culture.

Ring out them Solstice Bells!

Modern Christmas is a festival of consumerism, which I don't like very much.
Report BonViv November 22, 2009 9:51 PM GMT
A hopscoptch of pagan festival, the romans accidently "chooseing" the day set aside for "idol worship"muddled up with middle ages calendar tomfoolery, throw in the modern day christians(i use modern looseley) needing a convenient date to celebrate their folkstory codwallop and there we have it christmas day!
