tr.v. gift·ed, gift·ing, gifts
1. To present something as a gift to.
2. To endow with.

jut because it's in a fecking dictionary doesn't make it a fecking word! You give something it becomes a gift. The word is giving.

You tell a tale. There's no word 'taling' meaning the same as telling.

What are you going to be gifting this xmas. Feck right off!

Unaccustomed as I am to contradicting blokes what have been to university, I believe gifting was once used as a verb when speaking of things in one's gift, such as church benefices.

you can't compare with other words

the english language doesn't have a strict formula

i think i've gifted you enough of my time now

I hate the made up American word "envision" where they mean envisage!
Report slimfast November 22, 2009 7:16 PM GMT
It shouldn't be used in the sense of giving presents, but it is still useful in other circumstances.

Sparky wears his pants on the outside and holds them up with suspenders while he struts along the sidewalk to the gift center.
